The School occupies a beautiful campus with extensive buildings. There are around 450 pupils in the Senior School with 100 in the Sixth Form. Children of all denominations are welcome. Pupils are prepared for the GCSE and A level examinations and the school prides itself on helping all pupils individually to reach their full potential. At GCSE, pupils sit nine or ten subjects including English Language and Literature, Mathematics, at least two Sciences and a foreign language with excellent results. The Sixth Form offers approximately twenty A level courses. All Sixth Formers are offered a wide range of extra activitites and there is work experience in the Lower Sixth and the opportunity to participate in Young Enterprise Schemes.
The creative arts flourish at St. Edward's and Drama, Music and Art form an integral part of the curriculum. The School enjoys an enviable reputation for its drama productions and music concerts.
Sports facilities are excellent and St. Edward's has a high reputation in competitive sport. The School has its own swimming pool, fitness centre, two hard hockey pitches and sports hall amid several acres of sports fields.
Out of school activities include the Duke of Edinburgh Award, ski trips and foreign exchanges. There is an active PTA and close links between parents and staff through parents evenings, social events and shared activities.
A partnership has been formed with The Shukutoku Institute in Tokyo and every year several Japanese girls and boys come over to study with us.
The Junior School (for pupils aged 2.5-11) is located on a separate campus together with 30 further acres of sports fields.
